Don Robertson

My name is Don Robertson and I was born outside of Baltimore in the year of 1959. My parents were hard working, blue collar types, of which I am very proud. I found that I excelled in sports and was natural in baseball. I pitched and was told I was pretty good. It was good enough to land me a scholarship at The University of Tampa but soon found out that life offered hardships. I was injured in my second year and lost my ride, but was too proud to come home with my tail tucked between my legs. So I stayed in Tampa and went to work full time at nights while attending classes in the daytime. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business and then came home to Maryland.

In 1981, I fell in love, married and moved to PA. Here, after several jobs with large retailers, I found my calling in the floor covering the field. I started out in King of Prussia, PA with Color Tile. I had a manager at the time who believed in “hands-on” training, so my orientation was actually as a helper for every flooring job we installed. This truly helped me realize just what it takes or requires to not only do the job correctly, but all the required steps involved. I was hired as a salesman and within 2 years, I was running my own store.

When Color Tile dissolved (I assure you I was not to blame), I was hired by a wholesale flooring company called General Flooring. General Flooring sold to the trade only and this again allowed me, to know more installers and to see first-hand the good and the bad on the labor side. Some people tell me I should write a book about my experiences. I think if I did, it would shock the industry.

Life was good at this time with the Robertson’s and I was blessed with a son. Also during this time, my wife and I were yearning to return to Maryland and decided that Ocean City would be where we would raise our son.

Wishing to stay in the flooring covering field, I acquired a position as a Territory Sales Rep. with Mohawk Industries. My territory would cover the entire Delmarva Peninsula and included 120 retail store accounts. For many years I serviced my dealers and established a long friendship with many that continues today. I excelled at my position. Having been on the retail side I understood their troubles and concerns. I was able to assist them and help them expand their market. When I decided to stop being a “Road Warrior”, I left Mohawk with a portfolio that was double of when I started.

After leaving Mohawk, my life took a few unexpected turns. A divorce left me in a state uncertain of the future. But I renewed my faith and was rewarded with a woman who was heaven sent. I have returned to the retail side of flooring and after working for a couple of the local stores, I have decided to open my own store. I ask you to please visit Sea Floor Carpet, Hardwood, and More.

So, as you see, I am knowledgeable in all facets of flooring. I enjoy working with the public and believe I can assist families with your flooring needs. I believe in being totally honest, so be careful what you ask me. I love music from the 40’s through the 80’s and still collect Hot Wheel redline die-cast cars. I love old Hot Rod cars and have the deepest admiration and respect for any man or woman who has served our great country.Thank You for reading and I look forward to having you as a client.

My name is Tabitha. I was born and raised in Harford County MD. Fifteen years ago I married my wonderful husband Rick and moved to Ocean City. My greatest accomplishments are my two beautiful teenage witches, Samantha and Sabrina. If you haven’t picked up on it already our names are (Bewitching). My experience is mostly in hospitality. I started working in restaurants when I was sixteen working my way up into management. I have learned through the years a great product along with great service makes lifelong repeat customers. For the past 10 years, I managed a local restaurant where I met Don and Vanessa. They both became a part of my family. I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. The restaurant I worked for went out of business and for the first time in 15 years I was unemployed. One day while at the store I ran into Don and Vanessa, they asked me if I would be interested in helping them with getting their books started for their new venture Seafloor Carpets. Without hesitation, I said yes.

Don has introduced me to all the representatives for all the products that we carry. As I am new to the flooring business I am excited to take on this new and interesting venture to see where it leads me. In my spare time, I love baking, cooking and spending as much time with my family as I can. In conclusion, I can sum up myself with two words "Mary Poppin's" I strive to be Practically Perfect in every way.

Hi! I’m Betsy! As the youngest of 5 children growing up in Irvington, NY, some of my fondest memories are of our annual vacations to Ocean City, MD. According to my siblings, I first learned to crawl at the beach. I guess the sand never left my toes!

My parents met during their service in the Navy during WWII, so I think moving from place to place was in their blood. We moved a lot during my middle & high school years, and at one point landed on the Eastern Shore – yeah!!! It was then that I I think my destiny was cemented. While attending Ohio University, I returned and worked every Summer in Ocean City. Because so many college students came to fill Summer jobs in OC’s thriving hospitality industry, I made lifetime friends from all over the world – literally! After graduating from OU and then spending months traveling throughout Europe, I came back to Ocean City, this time for good! Thirty plus years of my background is in Hotel & Restaurant marketing, new development & renovations, so while I am very comfortable working on commercial projects, for the past five years I have also really enjoyed residential renovations. I love meeting new people and helping redevelop their living space – it is amazing what new flooring, carpeting or a remodeled bathroom can do to give your home a complete new look!

I met my husband, Alex, in Ocean City in 1993, and like my colleague, Tabby, my pride and joy are our daughters! After attending Most Blessed Sacrament in Ocean Pines and then Stephan Decatur in Berlin, they are now following in their Grandmother’s & Aunt’s footsteps and are in College pursuing nursing careers – anxious to help provide medical care to those in need. As for myself, I like to be very hands on with projects, and enjoy seeing jobs from start to finish. I have no problem providing my cell phone number to all of the customers I am working with so that I can be reached at any time at all!

I look forward to meeting you & hope that I can help to give your home or business a fresh, new look!

We love happy customers

Donald, we love your store! Since we don't have a dog, the kids had a blast playing with Abby and the puppies. You know, happy kids = happy parents. Thank you!!!
This past weekend, Sea Floor Carpets participated in a fundraising event for the Fisher House Foundation at Smitty McGee's Restaurant. For more than 25 years, the Fisher House program has provided a "home away from home" for the families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. These homes offer FREE, temporary lodging to military and veteran's families. Pictured are Don Robertson (President of Seafloor Carpets), Randy Lee Ashcraft (spokesperson for Fisher House) and Corporal John Rego (spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Project.)
We do the best we can to support our community. It is very gratifying to be acknowledged by today's youth.
